Tax Classes

Jump to: navigation, search

This screen deals with Tax Classes associated with Sales Taxes (see Taxes). A tax class is made up of products that are taxed identically. Examples of tax classes could be; food, cigarettes and alcohol. Each of these would have its own tax class because they have their own tax rate. For instance, food may be taxed at 5% at one site and 5.5% at another site, while alcohol may be taxed at 3% at one site and 5% at another site. The actual tax rate will be set up in the Tax Areas module.
