Overview: Order Pricing when Cuts are Performed

When cuts are performed on Orders, there is now an option to determine if the products that were cut will be repriced based specific criteria. Because Product Promotions and product prices are typically based on the amount of product in an order, the changes made in August 2009, added the ability to re-price the items based on either the quantity ordered or the quantity shipped depending on the cut reasons added. The below will not take effect if the Base Pricing and Promotions on the Quantity Ordered checkbox is checked in the Database administration>configuration>Orders tab.

There are two locations where this may take place:

  • Through one or more delivery adjustment reasons that indicate whether or not a specific ordered item should be priced based on the quantity ordered or the quantity shipped column. This can be applied through the handheld during Order Delivery.
  • During Orders-To-Loads process.

Based on the Delivery Adjustment Reason provided, items cut from orders may continue to be priced based on the quantity ordered rather than the quantity shipped if the checkbox Base Pricing and Promotions on the Quantity Ordered checkbox is checked on the record. When an item is cut on the handheld, the system will prompt for the reason. When making an adjustment to a delivery, the reason the user selects will determine whether or not the pricing and promotions will be based on quantity ordered or quantity shipped. If the selected reason has the Base Pricing and Promotions on the Quantity Ordered checkbox checked, the pricing for the item cut will remain the same. If unchecked, then the pricing will be based on how much was shipped.

The Delivery Adjustment Reason field on the Configure Orders to Loads panel is used to set the Delivery Adjustment Reason that will be associated with any line item that is cut during orders-to-loads. During the orders-to-load process, if an item is cut, eoStar will populate the line item with this orders-to-load adjustment reason. If the Delivery Adjustment Reason has the checkbox Base Pricing and Promotions on the Quantity Ordered checked, then the cut orders will continue to be priced based on the quantity ordered rather than the quantity shipped. (This assumes that there was not enough product in the warehouse to fulfill the order; therefore, any product still delivered should maintain the promotional price.) Note: If an order is cut prior to being processed via orders-to-load there won’t be a delivery reason associated with the order line, and any re-price would be based on the quantity shipped column.

  • Note: If there are multiple items that are part of the same mix and match promotion, eoStar will use the pricing rules for the first item that is cut.
