Crystal Credential Requests
Several customers have been experiencing an issue where, on some of their workstations, if they try to run a Crystal Report, it requests credentials and refuses to connect to the database, even when the proper credentials are input. This issue is related to the OLE DB provider used to connect to the database. The SQL Server Native Client provider causes the inability to connect to the database.
How-To Fix the Issue
1. To correct the issue, open up the broken report, refresh the data, and, when asked to provider server, credentials, and database information, hit back so that you see the below screen shot.
2. Choose Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, click next, and input the appropriate information as normal.
3. Finish and save. The report should no longer cause problems for whomever was attempting to use it.
